Peter D. MacIntyre is currently an associate professor of psychology
at the University College of Cape Breton in Sydney, Nova Scotia,
Canada. Peter was born to parents from Cape Breton (Alex and Donna
(MacNeil) MacIntyre) while they were living in O'Leary P.E.I. He
grew up in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, where he currently resides. He
graduated from St. John's elementary & junior high school, St.
Michael's Senior High, and received his undergraduate degree (B.A.C.S.)
from UCCB. For graduate school, Peter attended the University of
Western Ontario where he received the M.A. in 1988 and Ph.D. in
1992 under the supervision of R. C. Gardner. From 1992-1994 he held
a position as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the University
of Ottawa working with R. Clement. Since 1994, he has been working
full-time as a professor at UCCB. Peter's curriculum
vitae includes publications in the areas of second language
acquisition, communication, and personality.
