Dr. Sylvia Burrow graduated with her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario, June 2003. Her Doctoral dissertation is "Showing Some Humean Sympathy: The Role of Emotion in Moral Reasoning" ( supervised by Dr. Samantha Brennan).
Dr.Burrow joined the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies at Cape Breton University in 2004, subsequent to academic appointments at the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario), Mary Immaculate College at the University of Limerick (Limerick, Ireland) and the University of Utah (Salt Lake City).
In 2007 Dr. Burrow was promoted from the rank of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and in 2009 she was awarded tenure.
